What are your candles and wax melts made of?

All wax products are made with 100% soy wax, premium fragrance oil, and metal-free cotton wicks.

Are your jars recyclable?

Yes! Our jars are glass and can be recycled at your local center. You can also use them as storage for small items (NOTE: We DO NOT recommend using our jars for food or drink storage after use. The materials we use to make candles with are not FDA approved for consumption).

Why does my candle/wax melt look snowy?

Accepted Answer

That "snowy" effect is called "frost" and it's a sign that our candles and wax melts are 100% natural soy wax!

100% soy wax can also pull away from the sides of the jar, creating a shadowed effect. These signs are all cosmetic and do not affect the performance of the candles or wax melts. You can brag to your friends that your candle is 100% soy wax and be able to prove it!

Don't soy candles melt at room temperature?

Accepted Answer

No. However, 100% soy wax will melt if left in direct sunlight or in warm areas. Please store in a cool location out of direct sunlight when not lit.

How do I stop popping and flickering?

Accepted Answer

Popping and flickering is often caused by untrimmed, already burned, wicks.

Trim your wick before each use. Remove the already burned end of the wick (leaving 1/2-1/4 inches) and relight.

Also, snuff your candle with the lid of the jar or with a candle snuffer after use. Regularly trimming your wick and snuffing after use extends the life of your candle while also reducing soot and smoke.

Can I use your candles if I have allergies/asthma?

Patio Candle Co candles are made with allergy/asthma sufferers in mind. Soy wax, premium fragrance oil, and cotton wicks are all shown to reduce soot, smoke, and irritants compared to candles made with other types of wax and certain essential oils.

We also offer wax melts which completely eliminates smoke (our safest option for allergy and asthma sufferers).
